A couple of months ago, a friend gave me a huge stash of Votann bits, leftovers from an army he built. I’ve been slowly building my own Votann army over the last year or so, so I figured I would use them eventually. Until this last weekend.
This last weekend, I traded off all of my Star Wars Legion Rebels, a considerable amount, for all of the Karadron Overlords from the Stormbringer magazine, which my partner had the full subscription to. So I’m now the proud owner of about 700 points of KO! And those Votann bits came in handy, as I don’t particularly love the KO’s default metal beard helmets. So the Votann having the option of gender diverse heads really helped me flesh out a neat KO army idea.
Just in time, too. As my local store is doing a Path to Glory league coming up really soon, and I now have an army I am excited about and will hopefully enjoy playing! I have two Skaventide boxes worth of the rats, but would need a fair bit to make that into a complete, coherent army. Now I have my Endrinmistress and her rough and tumble Grundstok Exploration Committee. They’re heading out into the great blue beyond for Aethergold and to kick the enemies of Order down a peg or two. I will need another Spearhead and the Endrindocks, but that’s going to be happening very soon, and then the pressure is on to get some painting done! I’m excited!
